Description
Kinini Natural comes from the northern highlands of Rwanda, near Volcanoes National Park. The project was founded byย Jacquie Turner and Malcolm Clear, who built Kinini as both a specialty coffee estate and a long-term community development initiative through A New Beginning Rwanda.
Cherries are delivered daily to the Kinini washing station, where lots are separated for full traceability. For the natural process, ripe cherries are dried slowly on raised beds for several weeks, turned regularly to ensure even drying and prevent over-fermentation. Each bed is marked and tracked, allowing careful lot control throughout harvest.
At over 2000 meters above sea level, cool mountain conditions slow maturation and preserve aromatic clarity. The result is a cup that feels structured yet soft: floral and lifted, with watermelon and strawberry sweetness layered over vanilla and gentle lavender notes. Elegant, balanced, and quietly expressive.
Kinini is also recognised for its strong social commitment. A significant proportion of its workforce and supplying farmers are women, and the project actively supports education and healthcare initiatives in the surrounding community. The system is built not only for quality, but for continuity.
